While she does so without expectation of reward or acknowledgment, Lucille received the September Living Values Award for embodying the value of Excellence.

She was nominated by Manager Quality and Risk Gilly Smith, who said Lucille raises the hospital’s reputation in infection control and prevention.

“The quality of our infection control and prevention performance is exemplar across the state and the organisation as a direct result of Lucille’s tireless efforts and ‘can do’ attitude.

"She is generous with her care, her support and her smiles. Nothing is too much for her and this is something that is a constant. In the 18 months I have worked here, Lucille has been a font of knowledge, a resource and an absolute pleasure to work with,” says Gilly.

The hospital’s long-standing patients are also well acquainted with Lucille, who regularly visits the Restorative and Ursula Frayne Units with her dog Saffi. Testament to her compassionate nature, these visits provide great comfort and happiness to elderly patients aiding their recovery.

Congratulations Lucille on your well-deserved award!
