This award is presented to an organisation that has developed a learning initiative to support and drive a specific business strategy which has resulted in enhanced organisational performance.

Over the past three years, the hospital has demonstrated outstanding organisational learning effectiveness by implementing the reVIEW (Realising Exceptional Value in Everyday Work) program.

Implemented in collaboration with Intelog Healthcare Performance Group, and Lean Healthcare West, the reVIEW program (based on Lean methodology and using an A3 tool) has made a measurable difference to our performance. Together, we have built a foundation for sustainable and significant performance improvement. This has resulted in:

  • Increased problem-solving skills and capability to ensure excellence in clinical care for our patients
  • Increased efficiency
  • Improved our overall inpatient satisfaction score

St John of God Ballarat Hospital Director of Nursing Maria Noonan said I am very proud of the team for this achievement.

“The reVIEW program has been critical to outstanding organisational performance. Without this learning program, we would not have been able to build capability, enhance our organisational performance, and serve our community by providing excellence in care.”

“Being a finalist in these awards is recognition of the hard work of our caregivers at improving quality in all areas of the hospital,” Maria said.

Other finalists in this category were Westpac Bank, Commonwealth Bank and Rio Tinto, with Rio Tinto the eventual winner.

The Australian Institute of Training and Development fosters excellence in individual and organisational learning.
