Social Outreach and Advocacy
We have a long history of working with and helping
people within the community.
We are committed to providing significant care and relief for
people experiencing disadvantage throughout Australia, New Zealand
and the Asia Pacific region, particularly in areas with identified
gaps in service provision.
Our Social Outreach and Advocacy
(SOA) services are an expression of our commitment to helping
those in need. We deliver services developed specifically for
people who are experiencing disadvantage as a result of factors
such as poverty, prejudice and stigma, disability, lack of access,
powerlessness or marginalisation, which may be excluding them from
living a full and rich life. The objective of SOA is to improve
health and/or wellbeing.
We work alongside the people we serve to provide assistance that
effectively focuses on the underlying causes of poor health and
well being. Using our credibility, experience and expertise we
strive to influence decision-makers for improvements. Through our
focus on advocacy we draw attention to issues adversely
impacting on outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage.
