Delivering quality care

Providing high quality and
safe care is one of our key objectives. We work within a
variety of systems and processes to ensure we deliver the best
possible care to you and your family.
Accreditation by the Australian Council on Healthcare
Standards (ACHS)
Our last Accreditation Survey by the ACHS
was held in August 2010. Feedback from the ACHS surveyors
identified that there was a culture within clinical areas of
striving for best practice, and that there was a strong and
consistent response to the articulated values of the organisation
and the stewardship of clinical, pastoral, mission integration,
quality and service to the patient and wider community.
Our results included:
- 5 Extensive Achievements in key mandatory
criteria which included care planning and evaluation, quality
processes, incident management, policy development and
review;
- Moderate Achievement ratings in all mandatory
criteria;
- No high priority recommendations.
It was also noted that the overall care of patients at the
Hospital was provided using a holistic approach, and was provided
with dignity, compassion and was at a high standard. We continue to
work hard to ensure excellence in facilities and services that are
conducive to the safe and effective treatment of our patients.
Our success in the Organisational Wide Survey
is a credit to the hard work and dedication of our
caregivers.
The Australian Council on Healthcare
Standards is an independent, not-for-profit organisation,
dedicated to improving the quality of health care in
Australia. Accreditation is a formal process to assist in
delivering safe, high quality health care based on standards and
processes devised and developed by health care professionals for
health care services.

Patient satisfaction surveys enable us to
listen to patients and families about their experiences of being in
the Hospital. Every day we receive many positive comments from
our patients through patient feedback forms and our discharge
phone call service. Our patients tell us that we are doing a
great job.
The aim of our ongoing patient satisfaction
survey and customer feedback
processes is to ensure we maintain good communication with
patients and families and provide the best care/experience for
them.
