Welcome to St John of God Pinelodge Clinic

St John of God Pinelodge Clinic is a 54-bed psychiatric and
alcohol and drug hospital in Dandenong, an outer Melbourne
suburb 31 kilometres southeast of the Central Business District.
The hospital was established in 1981, undergoing a major
redevelopment in 2000 to update facilities and increase capacity.
Another refurbishment was completed in 2009.
With the aim of "bringing lives back into balance", the clinic's
multi-disciplinary team of caregivers operate a number of programs.
The Inpatient Therapy Program adopts
a team approach involving the cooperation of psychiatrists,
psychologists, general and psychiatric nurses, and other allied
health professionals working to return patients as quickly as
possible to a rewarding and active role in the community.
The same team approach is applied to the Day Patient Therapy Program, which is
designed to develop people's inner and outer resources so that they
can deal with life's changes and difficulties.
The Alcohol & Drug Dependency
Recovery Treatment Program helps patients identify and resolve
problems and understand the nature of dependency so they can set
realistic goals and adjust to a dependency free lifestyle.
The team of caregivers comprises psychiatrists, medical
practitioners, psychologists, experienced counsellors and
nurses.
The hospital has onsite Consulting Rooms, with 17 consultants
covering a variety of subspecialties including general psychiatry,
aged psychiatry, mood disorders, depression, anxiety and
psychotherapy. General Practitioners
can also refer patients for assessment and admission to St John of
God Pinelodge Clinic as an inpatient or day patient via the triage
admission nurse who liaises with GPs and psychiatrists.
