TravelSmart is a joint initiative between St John of God Murdoch
Hospital and the Department of Transport and Department of
Conservation and Environment. The initiative aims to reduce
single-occupancy car travel and encourage ‘green’ alternative modes
of travel among patients, visitors and caregivers, with a focus on
reducing car travel to and from the Hospital by promoting
alternative means of transport and providing incentives to travel
‘green’.
Benefits of the program will include:
• Decreased pressure on limited onsite parking
• Increased caregiver health benefits
• Potential reduction in motor vehicle running costs
• A reduction of the Hospital’s environmental
footprint
