Caregiver Safety
St John of God Health Care is as committed to the health,
safety and wellbeing of our caregivers as we are to that of our
patients and clients.
A Message from our Group CEO
Dr Michael Stanford
The wellbeing of our caregivers and
providing a safe working environment is integral to our
Mission.
Though the health and safety of our
caregivers has always been a priority for St John of God Health
Care, we have developed a revitalised focus for occupational health
and safety with the introduction of a five year Occupational Health
and Safety (OHS) Strategy. The strategy will assist us in focusing
on implementing the enhancements required to achieve an injury-free
workplace and will guide us in our endeavours to become best
practice within the industry.
Aside from our compliance and legislative
requirements, it is critical that as an organisation committed to
the health, safety and wellbeing of patients and clients we are
equally committed to that of our caregivers. Our strategy promotes
a systems approach to improving and strengthening our OHS
management and culture with a focus on leadership and caregiver
participation.
Our vision of health and safety is a
culture of no injuries to our caregivers or those who may enter our
workplace. Workplace injury and ill-health not only affects those
who are injured, but their family, loved ones and community as
well.
We aim to continue to strengthen our
safety culture to ensure we perform well above compliance.
