Our services
Welcome to the St John of God Bendigo Hospital Rehabilitation service.
We are a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including:
• rehabilitation specialist
• physiotherapists
• occupational therapists
• rehab-trained nurses
• allied health assistant
• social workers
• dieticians
• podiatrist
• speech pathologist.
We work in collaboration to address the complex needs of patients undergoing rehabilitation, to provide a well-rounded and integrated care, taking into consideration each patient’s physical, functional, emotional and social aspects of rehabilitation.
Our inpatient rehabilitation service specialises in delivering comprehensive multidisciplinary rehabilitation to patients following:
• stroke or other neurological conditions
• brain injury
• spinal cord injury
• decondition after illnesses
• orthopedic surgery (orthogeriatric rehabilitation)
• spinal surgery
• musculoskeletal injury.
Physiotherapists help you recover from injury, reduce pain and stiffness, increase mobility and prevent further injury. We take a whole-of-person approach to your health care, bringing together a team of health professionals to help you recover and reach your goals.
Hydrotherapy involves exercising in a heated pool to help treat a condition and/or improve your recovery after injury, illness or surgery. Our physiotherapists and exercise physiologists custom design your hydrotherapy program to your goals and condition
Our exercise physiologists are passionate about using exercise to help everyone achieve their optimal health and fitness. Weather your goal is returning to work or bike riding, exercise physiologists can best tailor an exercise session to achieve your individual goals and motivate you to be the best version of yourself.

Referral process for inpatient and outpatient
A referral from a GP, specialist or other health professional is required to access St John of God Hospital Rehabilitation Programs.
